Collective Exhale

Nestled just North of downtown Suttons Bay, next to Martha’s Leelanau Table, Gilchrist’s Tasting Room quietly made its debut into the community, just in time for “Local’s Summer.” It’s the time of year when those in the service industry take a collective exhale, having survived the rush of summer tourism, demanding and long days, the blood sweat, and tears that go into making hospitality in Northern Michigan something to write home about. But for the wine industry, it is a time of fervor, a ticking clock, and a time to turn up the energy for fall harvest and fall wine tours. We too, feel that energy. It's the calm before the storm and it’s a welcoming peace, an opportunity to pause and reflect, and a chance for locals to enjoy the service and goods thoughtfully crafted by fellow hospitality professionals.

We write specifically to locals, industry workhorses, families gearing up for the start of school and fall sports, and to fellow wine industry friends to join us for a glass of wine, or two, a small plate to share together near the fire, and a bottle to take home and share together to celebrate the start of a new season. It truly is a season of bounty and we feel blessed by the community that surrounds us and welcomes us. Allow us to welcome you to our home, our space of respite, a place of comfort and elegance beautifully married.

Cheers, to local’s summer
