Recognition in the Glass
Recent honors for Gilchrist Farm Winery wines.
Winemaking asks for patience.
The work begins long before a bottle is poured — in winter pruning decisions, shifting weather patterns, careful vineyard stewardship, and countless quiet choices made throughout the growing season. Much of it happens slowly, often unnoticed except by the people closest to the land.
Which is why moments of recognition feel especially meaningful.
This season, we’re honored to celebrate several recent awards recognizing the wines of Gilchrist Farm Winery, including distinctions from the Pacific Rim Wine Competition, the Texas Sommelier Conference (TEXSOM), and the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition — adding to a growing list of accomplishments for the vineyard and winery.
At the 2026 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, our 2024 Grüner Veltliner, 2024 Chardonnay, and 2024 Albariño each received Double Gold honors.
Award-winning wines of Gilchrist Farm Winery
At TEXSOM 2026, both our 2024 Grüner Veltliner and 2024 Albariño were awarded Silver distinctions.
At PacRim, the Albariño received another Double Gold and the Grüner Veltliner received Silver.
While awards are never the reason we farm or make wine, they serve as encouraging reminders that thoughtful stewardship, patience, and attention to detail matter. Every vintage reflects not only the conditions of the season, but the people who care for the vines, work in the cellar, and continue refining what this place can produce year after year.
For us, wine is always connected to place — to the lake air moving through the vineyard, the changing Northern Michigan seasons, and the shared experience of gathering around a table with good food and conversation.
To receive recognition from respected wine competitions and industry professionals is deeply encouraging, especially as we continue to grow and evolve.
Most of all, we’re grateful.
Grateful to our team.
Grateful to the land.
And grateful to the guests who continue to support and believe in what we’re building here.
We look forward to sharing these award-winning wines — and the seasons behind them — with you soon.
