Among the Vines
Something Beautiful Is Taking Shape in the Vineyard
Winter can look quiet from the outside. The vines are bare. The air is sharp. The land feels still. But here on the farm, winter is anything but idle.
Marc and Andrew have been out among the rows — cutting, stacking, splitting wood. Late-season pruning is underway. A new road is slowly taking shape. There’s a steady rhythm to it all — preparing the land for what comes next.
At first glance, it looks like the ordinary work of a vineyard in winter. But as we walk through the vines — the lake just beyond, snow settling softly between the rows — it’s hard not to imagine what this space might become in another season.
Picture it in June
Green canopies overhead. Long evening light stretching across the landscape. A table set between the rows. Music drifting through the vines. There’s something about this place — open sky, water in the distance, rows that draw your eye toward the horizon — that feels made for gathering. The new road will make access easier. Winter pruning will shape how the vines frame a photograph. Even the wood being split now may one day warm guests gathered under the stars. For now, we’re simply tending the land, as we always do.
But as we work, we can’t help but imagine what it might feel like to host something truly special here — an evening among the vines, a celebration rooted in this place. Winter is preparation. And sometimes, preparation carries a quiet spark of possibility.
Stay tuned.
