Our Barrel Fermented Chardonnay from Leelanau Peninsula, Michigan (2021) evokes a full-bodied, smooth wine. The use of 20% new, 55% two-year-old, and 25% three-year-old French oak barrels, toasted in a Burgundian style that keeps tannins and oak flavors mild.

The oak adds body and supports the wine’s yeast lees without dominating the flavor. The fruit chosen was from young Dijon clone 96 vines on a southern slope. Harvested on October 19, 2021, the grapes were gently cold-pressed to avoid bitterness.

The taste blends apple and citrus notes with subtle toast, making it interesting and balanced on the palate. 12.6% alcohol by volume in 750 mL bottles. Currently a wonderful value due to a new Barrel Chardonnay coming soon
